About the Company
Our client is a growing freight forwarding and logistics business providing comprehensive international transport solutions across air, sea and road freight.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to expand their Dartford team and recruit an experienced Multimodal Freight Operator / Account Manager to support the ongoing development of the business.
This is a varied, customer-facing role requiring someone with a broad understanding of international freight forwarding and experience managing a large portfolio of customers.
The successful candidate will have experience across import and export operations, air, sea and road freight, together with strong commercial, customer service and account management skills.

- Previous experience within freight forwarding, logistics, shipping or a similar environment
- Strong operational experience across air, sea and road freight
- Experience managing both import and export shipments
- Experience managing a large portfolio of customers
- Strong customer service and relationship management skills
- Previous experience in a customer-facing freight forwarding role
- Experience preparing and providing freight quotations
- Strong knowledge of working with suppliers, carriers and overseas agents
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments, customers and priorities
- Commercial awareness and a customer-focused approach
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of customer requirements
- Multimodal freight forwarding experience is essential
- Manage a portfolio of customers and act as a key point of contact for their freight requirements
- Coordinate air, sea and road freight shipments from booking through to final delivery
- Manage both import and export shipments, ensuring all requirements are met
- Provide customers with accurate and competitive freight quotations
- Liaise with shipping lines, airlines, hauliers, overseas agents and other suppliers
- Maintain strong and effective relationships with customers and suppliers
- Handle customer enquiries and provide regular updates on shipment progress
- Resolve operational issues quickly and efficiently
- Manage multiple customer accounts and shipments simultaneously
- Ensure all shipment documentation and information is processed accurately
- Monitor shipment progress and proactively address delays or issues
- Obtain and negotiate freight rates with suppliers and service providers
- Identify opportunities to develop existing customer accounts and improve service levels
- Work closely with colleagues and external partners to ensure the smooth running of the operation
- Ensure all customer requirements are handled professionally and within agreed timescales
- Support the continued growth and development of the business
