We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of an established UK manufacturer of traffic safety solutions for an experienced and commercially driven National Sales Manager.
With a strong reputation for quality, innovation and British engineering, our client is entering an exciting period of growth and is looking for an inspirational sales leader to help shape and deliver its next phase of expansion.
This is a senior commercial opportunity for an ambitious sales professional who can combine strategic thinking, hands-on sales leadership and strong key account management to deliver sustainable revenue growth.
The Role
As National Sales Manager, you will lead, develop and inspire the sales team while working closely with the Managing Director to deliver the company's commercial strategy.
You will take ownership of national sales performance, strengthen key customer relationships, identify new opportunities and build a high-performing, customer-focused sales culture.
The role combines sales strategy, team leadership, key account management, business development, tendering and market development, with the opportunity to influence future product and commercial strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve company targets, increase market presence and deliver sustainable revenue growth.
- Lead, coach and develop the national sales team, embedding a performance-led, customer-first culture.
- Ensure effective CRM usage, pipeline management, forecasting, quote follow-up and monthly sales reporting.
- Own and develop key customer accounts to increase revenue, retention and long-term contracts.
- Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities across existing and emerging markets.
- Lead and support public and private sector tenders, frameworks and contract submissions.
- Manage pricing and rebate enquiries while safeguarding existing contracts and customer commitments.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activity and customer requirements to identify opportunities and provide market intelligence.
- Work closely with the Managing Director to identify emerging markets, innovation opportunities and future commercial growth areas.
- Provide market insight to influence product development and wider commercial strategy.
- Represent the business at trade shows, exhibitions, conferences and industry events.
- Work closely with product development and operations teams to support sales initiatives and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
- Support social value and ESG commitments across commercial activity.
About You
- Established B2B sales leader with a proven record of delivering growth and developing successful sales teams.
- Proven experience leading a national B2B sales team, with a consistent record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Commercially astute, customer-focused and confident operating at both strategic and operational levels.
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation and key account management skills.
- Ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies and identify opportunities that translate into commercial results.
- Experience managing CRM systems, sales pipelines, forecasting and performance reporting.
- Strong coaching, mentoring and team leadership skills with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proactive, strategic and results-driven approach, with a passion for innovation and product development.
- Ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders and influence at senior level.
- Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally when required.
Desirable Experience
Experience within the following sectors would be advantageous:
- Manufacturing, infrastructure, lighting, construction products, traffic and highways, public realm, engineering products or the public sector.
- Experience with public sector tenders, frameworks, social value reporting or ESG initiatives would also be beneficial.

Package & Details
- Salary: £62,000 per annum
- Bonus: Performance-related bonus
