Night Shift Production Supervisor
The Sterling Choice
Night Shift Production Supervisor
North Lincolnshire | £41,000 | Permanent Nights
Some people like nights.
No traffic. Fewer meetings. Less noise from people asking for another spreadsheet.
Just production.
And there’s plenty of that here.
Four lines running through the night. Around 100 people on shift. Fast-paced food manufacturing where hitting the plan actually matters.
I’m recruiting two Production Supervisors to take ownership of an area of around 20-35 people.
One works Monday-Friday, 10pm-6am.
The other works Sunday-Thursday, 10pm-6am.
This isn’t a clipboard-and-watch-from-a-distance type of job.
You’ll be on the floor.
Keeping the line moving. Managing the team. Dealing with problems before they become bigger problems. Making sure productivity is where it needs to be without quality or safety disappearing out the window.
And they don’t want someone who simply inherits an area and keeps it ticking over.
They want someone with a bit of drive.
Develop the operators beneath you. Get more from the line. Improve standards. Question why something keeps going wrong rather than accepting that "it’s always been like that."
There’s some admin.
Of course there is.
Line performance. Return to Works. The usual reporting.
But the majority of your time is spent where a Production Supervisor should probably be.
In production.
You’ll need to have managed people in a manufacturing environment before and, ideally, that experience will have been within food manufacturing.
You might currently be called a Production Supervisor, Area Leader, Team Leader, Shift Supervisor or Area Manager.
The title isn’t particularly important.
Being able to manage 20-35 people in a fast-moving food factory at 2am is.
£41,000.
