Night Works Manager - Rail Infrastructure

East London | 6-Week Contract | 12:00am - 6:00am Shifts | £325-£450 per Shift (PAYE)

Are you an experienced Night Works Manager with a strong background in live rail environments? Do you have a thorough understanding of London Underground (LUL) procedures and experience managing complex engineering works during possessions?

I'm currently recruiting on behalf of one of the UK's largest developers for an experienced Night Works Manager to join a flagship circa £1bn regeneration development in Central London.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role on a high-profile infrastructure package, overseeing the installation of a major steel structure over an operational railway line during critical night possessions.



The Role

Working on a 6-week contract, you will manage all night shift activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in full compliance with rail standards and possession requirements.

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing all night-time site operations during rail possessions.
  • Overseeing the safe installation of a new structural steel bridge/frame over a live rail line.
  • Coordinating subcontractors, lifting operations and specialist engineering teams.
  • Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with LUL standards, procedures and safety requirements.
  • Liaising with engineering teams, project management, rail representatives and stakeholders.
  • Managing permits, RAMS and site documentation.
  • Monitoring programme, quality and productivity throughout each shift.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
  • Producing shift reports and ensuring effective handovers to the day team.


Requirements

To be considered, you must have:

  • Proven experience as a Night Works Manager or similar management role on live rail infrastructure projects.
  • Previous experience delivering structural steel or major civils works within rail possessions.
  • A strong understanding of London Underground (LUL) procedures and working practices.
  • A valid Sentinel Card.
  • Relevant rail competencies and qualifications.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS.
  • Excellent leadership and subcontractor management skills.
  • The ability to work confidently in high-pressure, safety-critical environments.
