Nursery Assistant

We are looking for a caring Nursery Assistant to support daily operations in our early years setting. You’ll help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that supports children’s development and well-being. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about childcare to gain valuable experience in a supportive nursery environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of age-appropriate activities that promote learning, socialisation, and development.
• Assist in supervising children during playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods to ensure safety at all times.
• Help with organising and maintaining a clean, organised nursery environment, including toys and learning materials.
• Support the implementation of nursery policies and procedures in line with regulatory standards.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a cohesive approach to childcare.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as record keeping, attendance monitoring, and reporting concerns to senior staff.
• Contribute to team meetings and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.

Skills

• Proven experience with children and childcare settings; nursery experience or early childhood education background is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with children, parents, and team members.
• Compassionate nature with a genuine passion for early childhood development.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating initiative when needed.
