Deputy Nursery Manager - Central Lincoln

Simply Education is recruiting on behalf of an established nursery in central Lincoln for a Deputy Nursery Manager to join their dedicated and friendly team on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and passionate childcare professional who is ready to take the next step in their career and play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the nursery.
The Role
As Deputy Nursery Manager, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure the smooth, safe and effective operation of the setting. You will provide strong leadership to the nursery team while helping to create a welcoming, stimulating and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day management and smooth running of the nursery.
- Take responsibility for the nursery in the Manager's absence.
- Lead, motivate and support a team of childcare practitioners, promoting high standards of practice.
- Help ensure the nursery provides a safe, secure, inclusive and stimulating environment for all children.
- Support the planning and delivery of high-quality activities and learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Promote children's development, wellbeing and individual learning needs.
- Work closely with parents and carers, building positive and professional relationships.
- Support staff with observations, assessments, planning and children's learning journeys.
- Help maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, hygiene and child protection.
- Assist with staff supervision, mentoring, training and professional development.
- Support the Nursery Manager with compliance, inspections, policies and procedures.
- Help ensure accurate records and documentation are maintained.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals to meet children's individual needs.
- Lead by example, demonstrating excellent childcare practice and professionalism at all times.
About You
The successful candidate will:
- Hold a minimum Level 3 Childcare Practitioner qualification.
- Have previous experience working within an early years or nursery setting.
- Ideally have experience in a senior, room leader, supervisory or deputy management position (preferred).
- Have a strong understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding requirements.
- Be confident leading and supporting a team.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be organised, reliable and able to work effectively under pressure.
- Have a genuine passion for supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing.
- Be committed to providing consistently high-quality care and education.
