Nursery Room Leader – Baby/Toddler Transition Room

Location: Hildenborough, Tonbridge, Kent
Salary: £30,000–£32,000 per annum, depending on experience
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours across five days

We are recruiting an experienced and enthusiastic Room Leader to lead a baby-to-toddler transition room within an early years setting in Hildenborough, near Tonbridge.

This is an excellent opportunity for an established Room Leader or experienced Level 3 Practitioner who is ready to take greater responsibility. You will lead the room team and create a nurturing environment that supports children as they progress from baby provision into the toddler stage.

The role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the day-to-day running of the baby-to-toddler transition room
• Supporting children through this important stage of their development
• Planning engaging activities based on children’s individual interests and needs
• Monitoring observations, assessments and development records
• Ensuring consistently high standards of care and education
• Leading, supporting and motivating the room team
• Delegating responsibilities and maintaining effective staff deployment
• Acting positive relationships with parents and carers
• Ensuring the room complies with the EYFS and nursery procedures
• Maintaining excellent safeguarding, health and safety standards
• Working closely with the nursery’s management team

About you

To be considered, you should have:

• A full and relevant Level 3 early years or childcare qualification
• Previous experience working with babies and toddlers
• Room Leader, Senior Practitionergant or supervisory experience
• A strong understanding of the EYFS and child development
• Excellent safeguarding knowledge
• The confidence to lead and support other practitioners
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A warm, positive and child-centred approach

This is a full-time position working 40 hours across five days. The successful candidate will receive a salary of between £30,000 and £32,000, depending on experience.
