Ocean Import Operator (Freight Forwarding)

Location: Forest Gate, London
Salary: £31,000 - £40,000 (DOE) + Excellent Benefits
Hours: 8:30-17:00 Monday to Friday

As an Ocean Import Operator, you'll play a key role in managing import shipments from start to finish, ensuring customers receive a seamless, efficient service.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing ocean import shipments from booking through to final delivery.
  • Liaising with overseas agents, shipping lines, customers, and hauliers.
  • Preparing and checking import documentation.
  • Customs clearance coordination (where applicable).
  • Monitoring shipment progress and proactively communicating with customers.
  • Handling invoicing, costing, and file completion.
  • Providing a high level of customer service throughout the shipment lifecycle.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in Ocean Imports within freight forwarding.
  • Strong understanding of import operations and shipping documentation.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments and prioritise workloads effectively.
  • A proactive, customer-focused approach.
  • Experience with customs procedures is advantageous.
