About the Role

We are looking for a bright, organised and confident Office Administrator to join a growing, family-run business.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being busy, getting stuck in and working as part of a small team. You’ll initially be working alongside one other person in the office, so you’ll need to be someone who is proactive, approachable and not afraid to pick up the phone or chase things up!

The role is primarily office based, but there may be opportunities to get out and about, including travelling to sites with the team. A practical, hands-on attitude would be a real advantage.

What You'll Be Doing

A big part of the role will be scheduling the maintenance team, making sure jobs are booked in, followed up and completed smoothly.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Organizing and scheduling maintenance jobs

  • Checking job reports and information through the company jobs app

  • Sending and responding to emails

  • Action requests and making sure issues are followed through

  • Chasing clients, customers and suppliers when required

  • Updating and working with Excel spreadsheets

  • Preparing and following up quotes

  • Speaking with existing and potentially new clients and suppliers

  • Keeping track of jobs and ensuring everything is completed and resolved

  • Learning the technical side of the business as you develop

  • Potentially travelling to sites and getting involved with the practical side of the business

Who We're Looking For

Ideally you will have 2-3 years working in an office environment in a similar role, also — the right attitude is just as important as your CV and skills.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Computer literate and confident using Excel

  • Organised and able to manage several things at once

  • Confident communicating with customers, suppliers and colleagues

  • Comfortable picking up the phone and chasing people when needed

  • A good problem solver who doesn't simply leave things unresolved

  • Practical and willing to get involved

  • Happy to learn new systems and the technical side of the business

  • Reliable, hardworking and takes pride in their work

  • Comfortable working independently but also as part of a small team

  • Has a good sense of humor and doesn't take themselves too seriously!

A technical, engineering, construction or maintenance background would be advantageous, but is not essential. Someone who is naturally practical and enjoys learning how things work could really thrive in this position.

Why Join?

This is a growing family-run business where you won't just be another number.

The more you learn, the more responsibility you can take on. There is also potential for further opportunities within the office as the company continues to grow.

If you're looking for a role where you can genuinely learn the business, develop your skills and become an important part of a close-knit team, this could be a great opportunity.
