Operations Leader

We are seeking an experienced Operations Leader to join a busy and expanding manufacturing company based in Dorset. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven manufacturing professional with a strong track record of leading high-performing teams in a fast-paced production environment. Previous experience within an extrusion manufacturing environment is highly desirable.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who is passionate about operational excellence, people development, and continuous improvement. 

Please note this is a position that requires an immediate start after the interview stage due to expansion projects.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and develop operational teams to achieve high levels of performance and engagement.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across the site.
  • Manage and improve key operational KPIs, ensuring targets are consistently achieved.
  • Identify and implement efficiency improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and cost performance.
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the business to deliver customer and business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and foster a positive working environment.
  • Monitor operational performance and take proactive action to address challenges and opportunities.

Ideal Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in a senior operations leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience within an extrusion manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated success in leading, developing, and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Strong people management skills with the ability to engage employees at all levels.
  • Experience driving operational performance, process improvements, and efficiency initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of KPI management and performance measurement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across the business.
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety requirements and quality management standards.
  • A proactive, hands-on leadership style with a commitment to continuous improvement and delivering results.

Salary: £65K - £70K
