Location: Buckinghamshire, within commuting distance of the M1/M40 corridor
Salary: £45,000–£50,000 depending on experience, with some flexibility for the right person
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Working Pattern: Office-based
We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join an established and growing business within the fire and security industry.
This is a key office-based role with responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day operational function, managing internal teams and ensuring service, maintenance and installation work is planned and delivered effectively.
The successful candidate MUST have previous operational experience within the fire and security industry. Applications without direct fire and security industry experience cannot be considered.
Key Responsibilities of the Operations Manager:
- Managing and supporting the operations, scheduling and administration teams and coordinating engineer workloads across service, maintenance and installation work
- Ensuring jobs are correctly planned, resourced and completed within agreed timescales
- Monitoring work in progress and resolving operational delays or issus and working closely with engineers, project teams, sales and senior management
- Ensuring engineers have the correct information, materials and access requirements
- Monitoring operational performance, productivity and service levels and reviewing processes and implementing operational improvements
- Supporting the recruitment, onboarding, training and development of team members
- Holding regular team meetings, reviews and performance discussions
- Managing subcontractors and external suppliers where required
- Supporting stock, equipment and materials planning
- Ensuring accurate job records, documentation and operational reporting
- Maintaining high standards of customer service, quality and compliance
- Ensuring work is completed in line with company procedures, health and safety requirements and relevant industry standards
- Producing reports and providing operational updates to the senior management team
Key Requirements of the Operations Manager:
- Previous operational management experience within the fire and security industry is essential
- Strong understanding of fire alarms, CCTV, intruder alarms and access control systems
- Experience managing engineers, technical teams, service departments or installation operations
- Confident managing schedules, workloads and operational priorities
- Previous responsibility for managing and developing a team
- Confident working closely with engineers, customers and senior management
- Good IT skills and experience using job management, scheduling or CRM systems
- Able to remain calm and organised within a busy operational environment
- Full UK driving licence
- Able to work from the office Monday to Friday
