Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking an experienced Retail Operations Manager with a strong public catering and food service background to oversee the consistent delivery of high-quality food service and retail standards across healthcare sites.

Job Overview

This regional role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, customer satisfaction, compliance, and financial performance across multiple healthcare locations. The successful candidate will maintain a visible presence within the business, supporting teams to deliver consistently high standards of food service and retail operations.

The role requires a proactive and influential leader who can develop site teams, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and support site mobilisation activities. A strong focus on efficiency, profitability, service standards, and retail excellence is essential, alongside close collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement retail strategies aligned with healthcare objectives to improve site performance.
• Oversee budgets, P&L performance, and financial targets to maximise profitability across multiple locations.
• Lead, coach, and develop site teams to maintain high standards of service, compliance, and customer engagement.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and regulatory requirements across all sites.
• Analyse performance metrics, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement effective solutions.
• Collaborate with commercial, culinary, and marketing teams to optimise product range and service quality.
• Support site mobilisation activities and ensure compliance with operational standards and company policies.
• Drive customer satisfaction, retention, and positive brand perception through service excellence initiatives.

Person Specification

• Strong food service and public catering expertise.
• Previous Regional Operations or Business Excellence experience.
• Proven managerial experience within the food service or retail industry.
• Demonstrated experience managing daily operations across multiple sites.
• Strong budget management, P&L, and cost control experience.
• Influential, proactive, and solutions-focused approach.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• People-focused leadership style with the ability to recruit, develop, and retain talent.
• Flexible and willing to maintain a visible onsite presence across the business.
• Full UK driving licence required due to travel requirements (car/car allowance provided).
