Are you passionate about supporting children and young people to overcome barriers to learning and succeed in education?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the expanding Outreach Team at this school, a specialist primary setting for pupils aged 5-11 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Working across mainstream schools in the Stevenage area, you will help pupils, families and school staff develop effective strategies that enable children to thrive in their educational environment. 

The Role

As an Outreach Support Worker, you will:

• Support mainstream schools in meeting the SEMH needs of pupils.
• Work directly with children on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
• Deliver targeted interventions focused on social, emotional and behavioural development.
• Model effective behaviour management techniques.
• Help develop and review behaviour support plans.
• Build positive partnerships with schools, families and external agencies.
• Produce reports and provide professional feedback to key stakeholders. 

About You

We are looking for candidates who:

✅ Have experience working with children within SEMH, SEND or mainstream education settings.

✅ Demonstrate resilience, patience and a positive approach.

✅ Possess strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.

✅ Can work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals.

✅ Have excellent organisational and written communication skills.

✅ Bring enthusiasm, flexibility and a sense of humour to their work.

✅ Hold a full clean driving licence.
