Part-time Finance Manager - Immediate Start in Cardiff

A rare opportunity to own the month-end story end-to-end in a friendly, close-knit finance environment. Our Client is a well-established sales and distribution business in Bridgend, part of a global organisation. With a supportive Director and a dedicated Accounts Assistant, this standalone role is your chance to make a real impact-accurate reporting, clear insights, and dependable controls.

What you'll be doing:
* Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs
* Produce and analyse Profit & Loss and Balance Sheets, turning numbers into meaningful commentary
* Complete balance sheet reconciliations and control account reconciliations
* Manage stock accounting, including adjustments and opening/closing valuations, plus inventory reconciliations
* Prepare and post journals; support accruals and prepayments accounting
* Maintain and manage fixed asset registers
* Account for VAT-preparing and submitting returns
* Support sales reporting and commercial analysis
* Handle foreign currency transactions and reporting where required
* Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
* Produce ad hoc financial reports for the UK Director
* Act as the key finance contact during external audits
* Support compliance with accounting standards, company policies and internal controls
* Supervise and support the Accounts Assistant

What you'll bring:
* Strong experience in a Finance Manager / Accounts Manager / Senior Management Accountant role
* Confident, up-to-date knowledge across management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, journals, VAT returns and fixed assets
* Experience with stock/inventory accounting and inventory reconciliations
* Strong Excel skills, with the ability to interpret financial information and present insights clearly
* Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision-and taking ownership of decisions
* Experience supervising or mentoring a junior finance staff member
* A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with the confidence to challenge and improve processes

Additional information:
* Part-time: 20 hours per week, flexible around school runs and other commitments
* Typical pattern: Tuesday to Friday, 9:00am-2:30pm (Friday working is essential)
