We are seeking a dedicated and dependable Pastoral Support Worker to join our team and provide pastoral, emotional and behavioural support to pupils, helping them to engage positively with school life and achieve their full potential.
What you’ll be doing as a Pastoral Support Worker:
- Provide pastoral, emotional and academic support to pupils, helping them to engage positively with learning and achieve their potential.
- Deliver learning activities and lessons to individuals, small groups and whole classes under the direction of teaching staff.
- Promote pupil wellbeing, positive behaviour and attendance, working closely with families and carers to support pupil progress.
- Assist teachers with lesson preparation, resource development, assessment, administration and wider school activities, including educational visits and parents' evenings.
What we’re looking for:
- GCSE or equivalent qualifications, to include English and maths
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent inter-personal skills
- Experience working with children and young people with SEND in an educational setting

Established in 2018, Oakbridge School is an independent special day school in Birmingham with a specially designed learning environment created to meet the needs of autistic children. In November 2025, Oakbridge School moved into its newly developed site in Handsworth Wood, further enhancing our specialist facilities and educational provision. We provide a calm, low arousal, safe, positive and nurturing place where young people can learn and grow.
Oakbridge School is part of Kedleston Group. We specialise in providing specialist education for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). These include autistic spectrum condition (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
