We’re recruiting for an established and growing business in Ferndown looking for an experienced Payroll Associate to join its busy payroll team.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of high-volume umbrella payroll processing while working closely with clients, contractors and colleagues. You’ll be joining a supportive team where your experience will be valued and where you can genuinely contribute to how the payroll service continues to develop.
The RoleYou’ll be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of umbrella payrolls, alongside pension administration, onboarding, expenses and associated payroll tasks.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Processing three umbrella payrolls each day, ensuring accuracy and deadlines are consistently achieved.
- Completing RTI submissions and statutory payroll requirements.
- Managing pension auto-enrolment administration.
- Liaising directly with clients to obtain, verify and update payroll information.
- Updating umbrella payroll margins in accordance with client agreements.
- Raising invoices and accurately processing expense claims.
- Onboarding new starters and ensuring payroll records are correctly established.
- Processing leavers and producing P45s.
- Maintaining accurate records and controls across payroll systems.
- Responding to payroll and pension queries professionally and efficiently.
- Supporting colleagues and sharing your payroll knowledge across the team.
Ideally, you’ll already understand the umbrella payroll environment and be comfortable working in a busy, deadline-driven setting.
We’re particularly interested in candidates with:
- Around two years or more of umbrella payroll experience.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and associated compliance.
- Experience working with high-volume or multiple payrolls.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong client and customer service skills.
- Confidence communicating with clients and colleagues.
- Good Microsoft Office skills.
- A proactive, organised and self-motivated approach.
- The ability to remain calm and accurate when working to tight deadlines.
Experience using My Digital Accounts (MDA) would be particularly useful, although this isn't essential.
Most importantly, you’ll be someone who takes ownership of their work, enjoys being part of a team and takes pride in delivering an excellent service.
