Job Title: Payroll Coordinator 

Location: Derbyshire

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000

Working Hours: 3-month initial contract with a view to going perm (Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm)

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Payroll Coordinator to assist with the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll. The role involves maintaining payroll records, processing wages and deductions, responding to employee queries, and ensuring payroll activities comply with company policies and relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities
•    Process weekly or monthly payroll accurately and on time.
•    Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, holiday pay, deductions, and statutory payments.
•    Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records.
•    Process starters, leavers, salary changes, and other payroll amendments.
•    Ensure PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, and other deductions are correctly calculated.
•    Prepare and submit payroll information and reports as required.
•    Reconcile payroll data and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
•    Respond to employee queries regarding pay, deductions, payslips, and other payroll matters.
•    Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive employee and payroll information.
•    Assist with year-end payroll processes, including P60s and relevant reporting.
•    Liaise with HR, finance, pension providers, HMRC, and other relevant organisations when required.
•    Keep up to date with changes to payroll legislation and procedures.
•    Provide general administrative support to the payroll and finance teams.

Essential Skills and Experience
•    Previous experience in payroll or finance administration.
•    Use of payroll software ideally Equator 
•    Good numerical and analytical skills.
•    Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
•    Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and payroll systems.
•    Ability to work to deadlines and manage confidential information.
•    Good communication and organisational skills.
•    Ability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies.
