- Provide Line Managers with expert ER advice and guidance, ensuring the advice and support given is proactive, accurate and timely.
- Ensure that ER advice to Line Managers is in-line with Company values, policies and procedures, HR best practice plus prevailing legislative and regulatory requirements in order to minimise the risk to the Company.
- Up-skill Line Managers by coaching managers through the process.
- Advise and coach Line Managers and work to assess risks and use judgement.
- Address ER issues at any early stage to mitigate tribunal claims.
- Provide Line Managers with clear reasons behind advice and recommended actions.
- Identify trends in types of calls from Line Managers that do not progress to cases and escalate as appropriate with recommended actions.
- Keep abreast of changes in employment legislation.
- Ability to generate planning solutions during restructures complex change management, ER cases and absence management.
- Advise and provide guidance on grievance, capability and disciplinary cases. Offer support as necessary for investigations and appeals. (Support with formal hearings where required).
- Responding to ER queries sent to the ER Queries Mailbox in a timely manner.
- Liaising with SHES to ensure effective Occupational Health case management so that long term and intermittent absence cases are managed proactively. Proactive in managing sick absence levels, return to work programmes where applicable.
