Personal Tax Senior in Orpington

TPF Recruitment, Kent's leading accountancy practice recruitment agency, is recruiting for a Personal Tax Senior to join a fantastic Top 100 accountancy practice, based in either Orpington or Sidcup.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with personal tax experience looking to develop their career within an established practice. You’ll work with a varied private client portfolio, build client relationships and work closely with experienced tax colleagues.

As a Personal Tax Senior, you’ll take responsibility for personal tax compliance assignments, support clients with their queries and assist senior colleagues with tax planning work where required.

As a Personal Tax Senior, your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and reviewing self assessment tax returns for a varied portfolio of private clients.
  
• Preparing tax computations and advising clients of their liabilities and payment deadlines.
  
• Liaising directly with clients to obtain information and resolve personal tax queries.
  
• Corresponding with HMRC on clients’ behalf.
  
• Managing your workload to ensure returns are completed accurately and within statutory deadlines.
  
• Identifying matters requiring further advice and discussing these with senior colleagues.
  
• Assisting with personal tax planning and additional assignments as required.
  
• Supporting junior colleagues and contributing to the wider tax team.
  

To be considered for this Personal Tax Senior opportunity, you’ll have:

• Previous personal tax experience within an accountancy practice or specialist tax firm.
  
• A good understanding of self assessment and personal tax compliance.
  
• Confidence preparing tax returns and managing client queries.
  
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build lasting client relationships.
  
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  
• Confidence using tax software and managing competing deadlines.
  
• An interest in developing your technical knowledge and progressing your tax career.
  
• This Personal Tax Senior role could suit an experienced Senior looking for a new opportunity or a strong Tax Semi Senior ready to take the next step.
  

• £40,000 to £55,000, depending on experience.
  
• A position based in either Orpington or Sidcup.
