We're looking for a M&E Planner to join our team, independently developing and maintaining project programmes, progress reporting and project controls on M&E projects

You'll provide technical planning support to the project team, integrating programme, production, design, procurement, logistics, commercial and risk information  with room to develop, supporting Trainee Planners as you grow into the role.

This role requires genuine M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) sector experience and hands-on Asta PowerProject experience 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop, maintain and manage detailed project programmes from pre-construction through to completion
  • Manage programme logic, dependencies, critical path, constraints, milestones and interfaces
  • Review productivity and accurately report progress and programme movement to the project team
  • Prepare programme dashboards, S-curves and performance information for client and site reporting
  • Operate project controls systems independently, using Asta PowerProject (and/or Primavera P6) to the required standard
  • Understand contractual requirements and how programme movement affects time entitlement and commercial outcomes
  • Support pre-construction and work-winning activity, including tender and bid programmes
  • Manage programme interfaces between design, procurement, construction and commissioning
  • Identify time-related risks and propose practical mitigation
  • Engage confidently with stakeholders, presenting programme information clearly across the project team

What We're Looking For

  • Genuine M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) sector experience — essential
  • Hands-on experience using Asta PowerProject — essential
  • The ability to work independently on defined projects
  • Strong analytical skills, with the confidence to challenge programme assumptions
  • Clear communication skills, comfortable presenting to stakeholders at all levels
  • A collaborative approach, working effectively with commercial, design and site teams

Qualifications

Essential

  • Genuine experience within the M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) sector
  • Proven, hands-on experience using Asta PowerProject
  • Relevant construction, planning or project controls experience

Desirable

  • Relevant construction, engineering, project management or planning qualification
  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
  • Working towards relevant professional membership
  • Experience using Primavera P6, Excel and Power BI
