Plater/Fabricator

We’re looking for a Plater / Fabricator to join a leading manufacturer in Tameside.

This is a role suited to someone with fabrication experience and confidence operating rolling machinery, as you will be forming and assembling steel components to technical specifications.

What will you be doing as a Plater / Fabricator?

• Reading technical drawings and fabricating steel components to specification
• Operating rolling machines to form materials accurately
• Forming and assembling components using hand and power tools
• Using fabrication equipment including guillotines, auto-feed saws, grinders and punch presses
• Operating MIG weld tracking and seam welding equipment
• Inspecting finished components to make sure they meet the required standards
• Working to production targets while maintaining safety, accuracy and efficiency

What will you need?

• Experience in a similar plating or fabrication role
• Previous experience operating rolling machines
• Experience using fabrication tools and manufacturing machinery
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• A time-served apprenticeship would be advantageous
