£35,000 - £45,000 per annum, or in line with National Pay Scale for qualified teachers

The School and the Role

This specialist SEND Post-16 provision in Salford supports young people with a range of additional needs, including SEND, SEMH, anxiety, trauma and social communication difficulties. Through a therapeutic and relationship-based approach, the college helps students develop the confidence, independence and life skills they need to achieve positive outcomes in education, employment and adulthood.

As Post-16 Operations Manager, you will provide operational and pastoral leadership across the provision, ensuring the smooth, safe and effective day-to-day running of the college. You will oversee key areas including attendance, behaviour, safeguarding, student wellbeing and pastoral support, helping to create a calm, nurturing and purposeful environment where learners can engage, regulate and succeed.

Working closely with senior leaders, staff and external agencies, you will coordinate operational systems, support compliance and contribute to the ongoing development of the provision. As Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), you will play a key role in promoting safeguarding, supporting vulnerable learners and ensuring best practice is embedded across the college.

Requirements

To be considered for this Post-16 Operations Manager role, you will:

• Have experience working within education, SEND, SEMH, alternative provision or specialist settings
• Demonstrate strong organisational, leadership and communication skills
• Have experience supporting vulnerable young people with additional needs, including SEND, SEMH, anxiety, trauma or social communication difficulties
• Be confident overseeing behaviour, attendance, safeguarding and student wellbeing systems
• Build positive and effective relationships with students, families, colleagues and external agencies
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and multi-agency working
• Be able to lead operational systems effectively within a complex and fast-paced environment
• Show a commitment to inclusive, student-centred practice and positive outcomes for young people
• Have experience of pastoral support, behaviour management and relational approaches
• Have experience using systems such as CPOMS, Arbor or similar educational platforms (desirable)
• Have experience delivering Functional Skills or supporting post-16 learners (desirable)
