Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial reports for a varied portfolio of clients
  • Support the preparation of year-end accounts in accordance with relevant accounting standards
  • Prepare and review bank, balance sheet and control account reconciliations.
  • Assist with bookkeeping activities and maintain accurate financial records for clients
  • Support the preparation and submission of VAT returns
  • Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes
  • Prepare working papers and supporting documentation for accounts production
  • Liaise with clients to obtain financial information and resolve accounting queries
  • Provide support during audit assignments where required
  • Assist senior members of the team with financial analysis and client reporting
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal quality standards

The Ideal Candidate

  • Studying towards ACCA/CIMA Professional Qualification
  • Previous experience within a professional environment
  • Working knowledge of accounts preparation and financial reporting principles
  • Experience preparing reconciliations and supporting client accounting requirements
  • Good understanding of VAT
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and cloud-based accounting software
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Proactive and professional approach with a willingness to learn and develop
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Experience working with a varied client portfolio would be advantageous but is not essential
