Anderson Knight is delighted to partner with it’s client to recruit  for a Part Qualified Management Accountant to join an established finance team in Glasgow. This is a good opportunity for someone who has solid management accounting experience and is looking for a role where they can continue to develop, take ownership of their work and build on their commercial understanding.

Working closely with the wider finance team and key stakeholders across the business, you’ll play an important role in the month-end process and the production of accurate and meaningful financial information.

The role

You’ll be involved in a broad range of management accounting activities, including:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts and reporting packs.
  • Taking ownership of month-end processes, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
  • Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Carrying out variance analysis and investigating movements against budget and forecast.
  • Supporting the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Providing financial analysis and insight to help the business make informed decisions.
  • Monitoring costs and highlighting areas of potential improvement.
  • Working with budget holders and non-finance stakeholders to understand financial performance.
  • Assisting with year-end accounts and the external audit process.
  • Supporting improvements to financial processes and reporting.
  • Taking part in wider finance projects and ad hoc analysis when required.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is confident working across the full management accounting cycle and enjoys working with both numbers and people.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Previous experience in a management accounting role.
  • A strong understanding of month-end, reconciliations, accruals and prepayments.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Good Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
  • Good communication skills, with the confidence to work with stakeholders outside of finance.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Be actively studying towards ACCA or  CIMA

What’s on offer

The role offers a salary of £40,000 – £45,000, alongside study support to help you continue your professional development.

The position is also offered on a hybrid basis, with two days per week in the Glasgow office, giving you a good balance between working collaboratively with the team and having flexibility when working from home.
