Anderson Knight is proud to partner with its client, a well-established and growing organisation, to recruit a Part Qualified Trainee Accountant to join their finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional who is part way through their accountancy qualification and looking to build on their experience in a varied and supportive environment.


The successful candidate will work closely with experienced members of the finance team, gaining further exposure across a range of accounting processes while continuing to develop their technical knowledge and commercial awareness.
Key Responsibilities


•    Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
•    Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
•    Prepare and post journals, including accruals and prepayments.
•    Complete bank, balance sheet and control account reconciliations.
•    Assist with maintaining accurate financial records and accounting information.
•    Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities where required.
•    Assist with cash flow monitoring and reporting.
•    Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts and financial analysis.
•    Investigate variances and assist with resolving any discrepancies.
•    Provide information and support during internal and external audits.
•    Assist with the preparation of year-end accounts.
•    Respond to finance queries from colleagues and other areas of the business.
•    Help identify opportunities to improve financial processes and procedures.
•    Provide general support to the wider finance team as required.

About You

We are looking for someone who is keen to progress their career within accountancy and is committed to completing their professional qualification.
You will ideally have some previous experience within a finance or accounts environment and be studying towards ACCA or CIMA.   You should have a good understanding of accounting fundamentals and be keen to broaden your experience across different areas of finance.
As this is a trainee-focused position, attitude and willingness to learn are just as important as existing experience. You will be organised, dependable and comfortable working to deadlines, with a genuine interest in developing your accounting skills.
Key Skills and Experience
•    Part qualified or actively studying towards ACCA or CIMA 
•    Previous experience within an accounts or finance environment.
•    Good understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
•    Experience with journals, reconciliations and month-end processes.
•    Good Excel skills and confidence working with financial information.
•    Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
•    Good numerical and analytical skills.
•    Well organised with the ability to prioritise workload.
•    Good communication and interpersonal skills.
•    A positive and proactive approach to learning.
•    Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider finance team.
