Practice Accountant in Crawley, West Sussex

A well-established and growing accountancy practice near Crawley is looking to appoint an experienced Accountant to join their friendly team. The position can be considered on either a full-time or part-time basis and offers the opportunity to work closely with a varied portfolio of SME clients.

Working within a supportive practice environment, you'll be responsible for preparing statutory accounts, management accounts and tax returns, while building strong client relationships and providing day-to-day financial advice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Preparing and reviewing management accounts
• Preparing corporation tax returns and computations
• Preparing self-assessment tax returns
• Reviewing bookkeeping and VAT returns
• Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients
• Providing financial advice and business insights
• Supporting clients with accounting software and best practice
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships

Requirements:

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
• Experience preparing statutory accounts and tax returns
• Knowledge of corporation tax, self-assessment and VAT
• Experience using Xero and/or Sage
• AAT, ACA, ACCA qualified, studier or qualified by experience
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Proactive approach and excellent attention to detail
