Press Toolmaker

Marshall Harmony

Press Toolmaker
As a Press Toolmaker because you enjoy making things work.
Not just repairing what's broken.
Understanding why it failed in the first place.
If that's the way you approach your work, keep reading.

It's a skill that takes years to develop and one that's becoming harder to find.
That's exactly why this Press Toolmaker opportunity has come about.
One of the Press Toolmakers is retiring after years with the business, so they're looking for an experienced Press Toolmaker who can come in, get stuck into the work and become part of an established toolroom.
This isn't the sort of Press Toolmaker role where you'll spend months learning the basics.
You know your skill and already know your way around progression press tools and can confidently manufacture, repair, refurbish and service tooling from day one.
The business is growing too.
Last year they acquired another engineering business, bringing another 20 people and 20 machines into the factory. They're now planning to almost double turnover over the next three and a half years, so this Press Toolmaker position is about more than replacing someone who's retiring. It's about investing in the future of the business.
You'll be joining a proper toolroom environment.
  • Surface grinders.
  • Milling machines.
  • Wire erosion.
Everything you'd expect to see in an environment where quality still comes first and craftsmanship is valued.
If you're a Press Toolmaker who enjoys taking a tool from start to finish, diagnosing problems and finding the right solution rather than the quickest fix, you'll fit in well here.
Progression tooling experience is essential.
What's in it for you?
  • Salary between £35,000-£40,000 depending on experience
  • 4 day working week, Monday to Thursday, working 39 hours between 6:00am and 4:15pm or 7:00am and 5:15pm, with flexibility to work Friday mornings when required.
  • Overtime available
    • Time and one-third during the week
    • Time and a half on Saturdays
  • 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays
