Primary school teacher with SEN experience

Prospero Teaching

Prospero Teaching is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a specialist independent school in Melksham for a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teacher.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking school that provides education for pupils aged 4-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, alongside pupils with complex medical needs. The school prides itself on delivering a highly personalised, therapeutic approach to learning, enabling every child to reach their full potential.

As a Primary Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of your pupils. The Role

  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage confidence and engagement.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support a range of learning, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and the wider school team.
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to personalised learning plans.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment that promotes wellbeing, resilience, and achievement.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching within a primary setting.
  • A passion for supporting children with additional needs and helping them achieve their potential.
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
  • A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach to teaching.
  • Previous experience within SEND, SEMH, or specialist education is desirable but not essential.

What's on Offer

  • Full-time permanent position.
  • Small class sizes with excellent staffing ratios.
  • A welcoming and supportive leadership team.
  • Ongoing professional development and specialist training.
  • Opportunities for career progression within a growing specialist education provider.
  • The chance to make a meaningful and lasting difference to the lives of children and young people.

If you're an enthusiastic teacher looking for a rewarding role where you can have a genuine impact, we'd love to hear from you.
