Are you a caring, enthusiastic and proactive Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in primary education?

A welcoming three-form entry primary school in Wythenshawe, with a lovely community feel, is searching for an engaging and proactive Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team.

With fantastic outdoor spaces and an excellent, exceptionally well-resourced SEN hub, the school offers opportunities to support pupils across mainstream classrooms and specialist SEN provision.

Whether you have experience in mainstream education or supporting children with additional needs, this is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive team and make a real difference to pupils' learning and development.

The Role

Opportunities are available across mainstream classrooms and the school's dedicated SEN hub, supporting children with a range of learning needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
  • Supporting teaching and learning across primary year groups.
  • Assisting pupils with additional needs within the specialist SEN hub.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, communication and social development.
  • Helping create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Supporting classroom activities and promoting pupil independence.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO and support staff.

  • An excellent, fantastically resourced SEN hub.
  • Opportunities in both mainstream and specialist SEN settings.
  • Fantastic outdoor areas for learning and play.
  • A friendly, supportive and cohesive staff team.
  • Long-term opportunities to develop your education career.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience working with children in education, childcare, SEN or care settings.
  • A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • An interest in supporting children with additional needs.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.

A Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant SEN experience would be advantageous, but a positive attitude and genuine passion for supporting children are equally important.
