We're recruiting for a Principal Civil Design Engineer to join a growing engineering design team delivering major projects across the UK water, utilities, industrial and energy sectors.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineer to take a leading role in the technical delivery of complex infrastructure projects, whilst mentoring and developing junior engineers within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment. You'll be involved throughout the project lifecycle, helping to deliver innovative, practical and buildable engineering solutions from concept through to construction.
The Role
As Principal Civil Design Engineer, you will:
- Lead the technical delivery of civil engineering design packages on a range of infrastructure projects.
- Manage project programmes, resources and budgets to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Produce and review design calculations, reports, drawings and technical documentation.
- Support BIM-led project delivery and the adoption of modern engineering practices.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and support to Engineers, Graduates and Technicians.
- Work closely with clients, contractors and project delivery teams to develop practical, cost-effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, quality requirements and HSEQ procedures.
- Promote innovation and continuous improvement across project delivery.
About You
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Significant civil engineering design experience.
- Strong understanding of Eurocodes and UK industry design standards.
- Experience leading and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets and resources.
- Knowledge of BIM-led design processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable (not essential)
-Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
-Experience within the water, utilities, industrial, energy or wider infrastructure sectors.
-Design & Build project experience.
-Experience developing and mentoring junior engineers.
