Principal Civil Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Civil Engineer to join an established and growing engineering consultancy in its Glasgow office.

With 100+ staff across multiple UK offices, the business has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality civil and structural engineering solutions across a range of sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Civil Engineer, Principal Engineer or potentially an Associate-level candidate to strengthen their Glasgow team.

The successful candidate will have a strong civil engineering background and experience across areas such as:

• Roads and infrastructure design
• Drainage and surface water management
• Earthworks and levels
• Flood risk and drainage assessments
• Civil engineering design for development projects
• Residential development experience would be advantageous, but is not essential
• Preparation and review of technical reports, drawings and specifications
• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers
• Working closely with clients, contractors and other consultants

As the team develops, there will also be opportunities to help shape and grow the Glasgow civil engineering team, working closely with the Regional Director and wider senior leadership.

We're keen to speak with experienced Civil Engineers at Senior, Principal or Associate level who can demonstrate:

• A strong technical background in civil engineering
• Experience with roads, drainage, earthworks, levels and/or flood risk
• Experience working within a consultancy environment
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• The ability to mentor and support less experienced engineers
• A collaborative, team-focused approach
• Ambition to help develop and grow a team
• Existing contacts within the Scottish/Glasgow development and engineering market would be advantageous
• An interest in business development and work winning, with support from the Regional Director and wider senior team
