Build your future with Smurfit Westrock

Looking for a role where you can learn new skills, be part of a great team and make a real difference every day?

At Smurfit Westrock, we’re proud to be a global leader in sustainable paper and packaging. Behind every product we make is a team of people who keep our operation moving, and we’re looking for a Production Operative to join us.

Whether you already have experience in paper, print or manufacturing, or you’re looking for your next opportunity and are ready to learn, we’d love to hear from you.

What will you be doing?

As a Production Operative, you’ll play an important role in keeping our production running safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

You’ll:

  • Operate and monitor production machinery
  • Carry out general manual handling activities
  • Complete basic computer and production system tasks
  • Follow our Health & Safety and Quality standards
  • Help maintain high levels of production and minimise waste
  • Work closely with your colleagues as part of a supportive production crew
  • Develop your skills across different areas of the operation

No previous paper or packaging experience? No problem. Manufacturing experience is preferred, but we’ll provide the training you need to become confident in the role. We’re particularly keen to develop people who want to become multi-skilled and build a long-term career with us.

What are we looking for?

You don’t need to have all the answers. We’re looking for people who bring the right attitude, commitment and willingness to learn.

You’ll ideally be:

  • Positive, reliable and willing to get stuck in
  • Comfortable working as part of a team and independently
  • Safety-conscious, with a strong focus on doing things the right way
  • Organised and able to prioritise your workload
  • Attentive to detail and quality
  • A good communicator
  • Motivated to learn new skills and develop
  • Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

You’ll also need Grade 4 (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

Your working pattern

This is a 3-shift rotating role, giving you the opportunity to experience all areas of our shift cycle:

Week 1: 2pm – 10pm
Week 2: 6am – 2pm
Week 3: 10pm – 6am
