About the Opportunity
Are you highly organised, detail-oriented and passionate about delivering exceptional customer service? We're recruiting on behalf of a growing business seeking a Procurement Assistant to support the successful delivery of exciting projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous procurement, purchasing, account management or project coordination experience who enjoys building strong relationships, managing multiple priorities and ensuring projects run smoothly from order through to delivery.
Working closely with an experienced and collaborative team, you'll play a key role in coordinating suppliers, managing orders and providing outstanding service throughout the procurement process.
The Role
As Procurement Assistant, you'll be responsible for supporting the procurement function while acting as a key point of contact for suppliers and clients. No two days will be the same, and you'll enjoy working across multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with suppliers and clients.
- Raise, process and monitor purchase orders.
- Coordinate deliveries and track project timelines.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding lead times, availability and order updates.
- Resolve delivery issues quickly and professionally.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and project documentation.
- Support the wider project team with administrative and coordination tasks.
- Monitor outstanding orders and ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Assist with supplier negotiations and obtaining competitive quotations.
- Deliver a high level of customer service throughout each project.
We're looking for someone who is proactive, organised and enjoys working with people.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience within procurement, purchasing, buying, account management or project coordination.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- A proactive, positive and solutions-focused approach.
- Good commercial awareness.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Experience working with procurement or ERP systems would be advantageous but isn't essential.
