Procurement Manager

An established public sector organisation is seeking an experienced Interim Procurement Manager to support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of procurement and contract management projects. Your new role

As Interim Procurement Manager, you will lead end-to-end procurement activity, manage a portfolio of contracts and support the development of robust sourcing and renewal strategies. Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing procurement projects from market engagement through to contract award and implementation.
• Developing and maintaining contract portfolios and renewal plans.
• Providing expert procurement and commercial advice to stakeholders.
• Running RFQ, tender and quotation processes, including evaluation and negotiation activities.
• Undertaking spend analysis and identifying opportunities for efficiencies, savings and service improvements.
• Leading supplier and contract management activities to drive performance and value.
• Producing business cases, procurement reports, presentations and sourcing recommendations.
• Supporting compliance with Procurement Act 2023 requirements, governance procedures and procurement best practice.
• Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Supporting procurement transformation, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction initiatives.
• Potentially managing or mentoring junior procurement colleagues depending on experience.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Proven public sector procurement experience.
• Strong knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023 and public procurement regulations.
• Experience managing end-to-end tendering and sourcing exercises.
• Contract management and supplier relationship management experience.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Strong analytical, commercial and negotiation capabilities.
• Experience producing procurement reports, business cases and spend analysis.
• CIPS membership, working towards CIPS, or equivalent procurement experience.
• Strong IT skills including Excel and procurement systems.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within tight timescales.
