An established public sector organisation is seeking an experienced Interim Procurement Manager to support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of procurement and contract management projects. Your new role
As Interim Procurement Manager, you will lead end-to-end procurement activity, manage a portfolio of contracts and support the development of robust sourcing and renewal strategies. Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing procurement projects from market engagement through to contract award and implementation.
- Developing and maintaining contract portfolios and renewal plans.
- Providing expert procurement and commercial advice to stakeholders.
- Running RFQ, tender and quotation processes, including evaluation and negotiation activities.
- Undertaking spend analysis and identifying opportunities for efficiencies, savings and service improvements.
- Leading supplier and contract management activities to drive performance and value.
- Producing business cases, procurement reports, presentations and sourcing recommendations.
- Supporting compliance with Procurement Act 2023 requirements, governance procedures and procurement best practice.
- Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Supporting procurement transformation, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction initiatives.
- Potentially managing or mentoring junior procurement colleagues depending on experience.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Proven public sector procurement experience.
- Strong knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023 and public procurement regulations.
- Experience managing end-to-end tendering and sourcing exercises.
- Contract management and supplier relationship management experience.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Strong analytical, commercial and negotiation capabilities.
- Experience producing procurement reports, business cases and spend analysis.
- CIPS membership, working towards CIPS, or equivalent procurement experience.
- Strong IT skills including Excel and procurement systems.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within tight timescales.
