Being a Procurement Specialist at HealthTrust Europe (internally known as Sourcing Specialist)

You will be responsible for negotiating industry leading national agreements, where your primary objective is to ensure best in class industry pricing, and contract terms and conditions.
The key area of focus is sourcing initiatives that are primarily categories with low levels of spend, complexity, risk and sensitivity. The role holder may have some responsibility for other types of categories for the purposes of development and workload allocation. You will be expected to apply your  knowledge and experience in principles and concepts related to sourcing and contract management, applying practices and policies in analysing situations and data.

 We'd love to hear from you if your knowledge and experience aligns with the following duties of the Procurement Specialist 
  1. Under general supervision, being responsible for the sourcing process for their assigned categories. This includes market research, bid preparation, RFI, strategy development & validation, SQ, RFP/ITT, contract negotiations, and contract launch 
  2. For assigned categories, develops the strategy with the support of their manager, seeking guidance for risk issues and agreeing on risk mitigation strategies. 
  3. Presents category strategies and final awards to internal stakeholders for review and discussion, prior to being validated by members 
  4. Undertakes a pre- assessment of award scenarios and utilises outputs to inform sourcing strategies for assigned categories 
  5. Utilises knowledge of procurement processes to determine appropriate procurement approaches required to deliver required value for all stakeholders 
  6. Undertakes end to end sourcing initiatives in line with organisation’s sourcing practices. 
  7. Oversees the supplier relationship during the sourcing process. Participates in supplier business reviews and reviews new products/technologies/services as they arise in assigned categories 
  8. Builds effective working relationships with customers with interaction primarily being through member presentations
  9. Identifies key customer relationships to be established, to support the growth of the assigned portfolio
  10. Communication of bid process, negotiation status, agreement on terms, financial proposal concerns and other matters with supplier and internal team 
  11. Developing contract launch materials and working with Portfolio Leads to ensure all contract materials are maintained.
Understands or demonstrates an aptitude to learn the product categories assigned and how end users interface with the products/services

 What's essential to succeed in this role
  • 2-3 years procurement experience with a proven track record of delivery against targets
  • Strategic Sourcing and Category Management experience
  • 1 year customer engagement experience
  • Experienced negotiator
  • Full end-to-end procurement process 
  • Supplier relationship management and project management experience
  • Accomplished user of e-Procurement systems, Microsoft Word / Excel / PowerPoint / Access, Outlook
