Product Manager - Combustion Systems
Anticus Recruitment
A top class global engineering company are seeking a Product Manager to join their combustion division in the UK.
If you are a commercial product leader who likes turning technical equipment into profitable growth, this role gives you ownership of their combustion systems products - a high value business with clear room to grow.
This is not a maintenance role where the strategy is already fully set. Your role will develop a focused strategy to capture more of the market and exceed customers needs.
The role:
In your first 6 to 12 months, you'll:
- Develop a clear product strategy: choose the industries and customers worth focusing on and define how the product must adapt to win there.
- Review pricing levels across the portfolio to align with market expectations.
- Diagnose the main roadblocks to growth and build the fixes into your strategy.
Your core responsibilities include:
- Own the profitable growth of the combustion systems business, including the product development road map and full lifecycle management.
- Stay close enough to engineering and sales to turn customer and market input into the right product development priorities.
- Take commercial ownership of product-related decisions, including pricing, portfolio logic, installed-base tracking, competitor activity, and warranty-related topics.
Person Requirements:
- A commercial, sales-oriented mindset. You can take a strong product and turn it into a profitable business.
- The ability to bridge technical depth with commercial strategy.
- Around 10 years of professional experience overall, typically in a commercial, product management or technical-sales role. Some part of your background should connect to combustion systems, kilns, thermal processing or comparable industrial process equipment.
- Excellent communication skills
Why apply:
This is a role with real ownership. The product has strong fundamentals and a small share of its market, which means room to grow and the freedom to define the strategy rather than inherit one. Your work sets the direction for the business whose aim is to roughly double over three years.
You’ll also have a visible local role in their UK office, with real influence over how the site works and feels. International collaboration is part of the rhythm here: you'll work with colleagues and customers across several countries most weeks.
Package:
- Salary between £80k and £95k depending upon experience
- Bonus 8%
- Holidays: 25 plus bank holidays
- 10% employer contribution
- BUPA private medical care
- Hybrid working (Mondays and Fridays from home)
