Role Overview: Product Manager:

The company is looking for a technically competent Product Manager to lead global commercial and strategic activities for their range of scientific products used in the food & beverage markets. The role is responsible for product management, market and competitive intelligence and business development to drive growth, profitability and innovation.

You will act as the internal voice of the customer, collaborating with Sales, R&D, Operations and regional teams to translate market insights into product strategies and execution.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: Product Manager:

  • Deliver annual operating plan (AOP) objectives: revenue, margin and EBIT targets.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle from concept and market validation through launch, growth and end-of-life.
  • Set and maintain global pricing guidance, considering market value, competition, cost and margin.
  • Gather and communicate customer insights and needs, working with clients across the EU and USA both onsite and online etc
  • Work with Sales teams to identify and assess new markets, applications and customer segments using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Lead market sizing, segmentation, competitive analysis and business case development.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D teams to define requirements and ensure timely product delivery.
  • Support trade shows and customer meetings as a product representative.

Qualifications and Requirements: Product Manager

  • Solid industrial experience in product management within an electromechanical product manufacturing environment (food/beverage packaging, science, pharmaceutical, lighting, purification, medical devices, FMCG, printing etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in physics, chemistry, mechanical/electrical engineering or related field however industry experience with apprenticeship or HND also acceptable.
  • Good technical knowledge; comfortable working with electromechanical or mechanical systems, including electronics, HMI-controlled products and three-phase power supplies.
  • Strong communication skills to discuss technical product needs with clients and translate these into commercially viable products with R&D engineers.
  • High work ethic, adaptability and commitment to organisational goals in a competitive, dynamic market.
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration and project management skills.
  • Confident in working with senior management to define and champion commercial and strategic projects - leadership skills would be welcome.
