ST TALENT is recruiting for a Production Manager on behalf of a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Burnley.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Manager, Manufacturing Supervisor, Team Leader or Manufacturing Engineer looking to take the next step in their career. The business has a strong reputation within the engineering and manufacturing sector and is entering an exciting period of growth, including plans to expand into a larger facility in the near future.

The successful Production Manager will play a key role in leading day-to-day manufacturing operations, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and developing production processes to support future growth.

The Role

As Production Manager, you will oversee manufacturing operations across the workshop and drawing office, ensuring production targets, quality standards and customer lead times are achieved.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing daily production activities within a CNC machining environment
  • Leading and developing a manufacturing team
  • Capacity planning for both bespoke and batch production work
  • Establishing and improving manufacturing processes
  • Implementing and monitoring production KPIs
  • Managing production schedules and customer lead times
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintaining quality standards and inspection procedures
  • Supporting the development of designs through CAD systems
  • Ensuring Health & Safety compliance across the site
  • Working closely with senior management to support business growth plans

About You 

The ideal Production Manager will have experience within a CNC machining or precision engineering environment and possess strong leadership skills.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience working within a CNC machining environment
  • Previous leadership, supervisory or management experience
  • Knowledge of 4 and/or 5-axis machining
  • CAD knowledge and experience
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and process improvement
  • Excellent communication and team management abilities
