Job Title: Production Manager

Location: Northampton

Salary: £50,000-£56,000

Hours: 3x Weeks of rotating Shifts: Mon to Fri 14:00-22:00, Mon to Fri 06:00-14:00, Mon to Thurs 22:00-06:00

The Responsibilites

  • Promote and embed a strong health and safety culture across all production activities
  • Lead, manage and develop production teams including recruitment, onboarding, appraisals, training and performance management
  • Monitor team and equipment performance, implementing corrective and preventative actions where required
  • Manage daily factory operations, proactively identifying and mitigating production bottlenecks
  • Maintain effective communication between production, conversion, despatch and customer service departments
  • Ensure shift teams are kept up to date with business performance, procedural changes and operational updates
  • Work closely with engineering teams to prioritise maintenance activities and minimise downtime
  • Support Health, Safety and Quality teams to ensure compliance with auditing and operational processes
  • Collaborate with Sales and Planning teams to deliver excellent customer service levels
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and positively influence organisational change

The Requirements

  • Previous experience leading teams within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong people management and leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate employees
  • Manufacturing process background, ideally within paper, packaging or a similar industry
  • Committed to maintaining high standards of health and safety
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively
  • Target-driven mindset with a focus on operational performance and efficiency
  • Lean Manufacturing training or experience would be advantageous
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments
  • IT competent with the ability to learn and utilise business systems including Cobis
  • Knowledge of production processes, operations and logistics
