Production Manager
We are recruiting on behalf of an established electronics manufacturer that designs and produces bespoke electronic assemblies and systems for customers across a range of industries, with a strong presence in the automotive sector.
As the business continues to grow and invest in its manufacturing capabilities, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Production Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of the production department, ensuring products are delivered on time, to the highest quality standards, and in the most efficient manner possible.
The Role
Reporting into the Operations function, you will take responsibility for overseeing all production activities, ensuring manufacturing schedules are achieved whilst maintaining exceptional quality, productivity and customer delivery performance.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Planning and scheduling production to meet changing customer demand and delivery commitments.
- Managing production personnel and manufacturing processes to maximise efficiency whilst maintaining high quality standards.
- Working closely with the Operations Manager to determine optimum batch sizes, production schedules and workflow to improve throughput and minimise inventory.
- Supporting Engineering with the introduction of new products into production (NPI).
- Collaborating with the Quality Manager to ensure continued compliance with relevant quality and environmental management systems, including IATF/TS automotive quality standards and ISO 14001.
- Driving continuous improvement across production processes, quality and operational performance.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience managing or supervising an electronics manufacturing environment.
- A strong understanding of surface mount technology (SMT), pick-and-place equipment and conventional PCB assembly processes, with a practical, hands-on approach.
- Excellent production planning and scheduling skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of manufacturing efficiencies.
- Experience leading and motivating production teams.
- Good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Previous experience within the automotive electronics sector would be advantageous.
You will also possess:
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- The ability to motivate and develop teams within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative and approachable management style.
- A proactive, organised and hands-on approach to problem solving.
Working Hours
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
- Friday: 8:00am – 3:30pm
- 30-minute lunch break
