Role: Production Operative
Location: Portsmouth, PO3
Rate: £14.05
Shift: Rotating
The Operator role is to make, manufacture and deliver work upon business demand. Specific departments will include production of assembly, sub assembly and making materials.
Daily duties(not limited):
- Following and interpreting technical drawings
- Using adhesives, solvents, and chemicals safely
- Operating welding machines, presses, and large machinery
- Using milling and mixing machines
- Inspecting materials to ensure fit for purpose
- Completing route cards and maintaining 100% compliance
- Using small handheld tools
About you:
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- High attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions accurately
- Strong health & safety awareness and PPE compliance (safety shoes, overalls, safety glasses)
- Commitment to following safety rules with no short cuts
- Ability to work with strong‑smelling chemicals
- Ability to undertake prolonged periods of sitting or standing
Desired experience, but not essential:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Aerospace or regulated‑industry experience (advantageous but not essential)
Shift: Rotating shift
Week 1. 6am to 2.45pm
Week 2. 2.30pm to 11.15pm
