PRODUCTION OPERATIVE - COMPOSITES MANUFACTURING
Eynsham, Oxfordshire | Permanent, Full-Time
THE OPPORTUNITY
We're recruiting Production Operatives across two areas of a growing precision composites manufacturing business in Eynsham, Oxfordshire. Both roles are entry-level, you don't need composites experience. What you do need is a practical, hands-on background, a positive attitude and the genuine motivation to learn and develop in a technically interesting environment.
The business works across aerospace, defence, motorsport and medical sectors and has a strong track record of training and developing people into skilled production roles from the ground up. If you want to build a career in advanced manufacturing rather than just find a job, this is worth a look.
TWO AREAS, ONE PROFILE
We're looking for operatives across two distinct production areas, both offering full training and real progression:
COMPOSITES, LAMINATING AND MANUFACTURING
You'll be working on the production floor supporting an experienced composites team, learning processes including laminating, vacuum bagging, trimming, bonding and finishing. Over time and with the right attitude, you'll develop into a skilled composite technician.
What you'll be getting involved in as you develop:
- Supporting the laminating and lay-up of composite components
- Vacuum bagging and mould preparation
- Trimming, bonding and finishing of composite parts
- Following work instructions and ply books as your confidence grows
- Maintaining quality and traceability standards throughout
COMPOSITES, SPRAY AND OVEN OPERATIONS
You'll be working within the spray and curing side of composites production, operating robotic spray systems, loading and unloading curing ovens and supporting material testing and quality processes. It's technical, process-driven work with clear procedures to follow from day one.
What you'll be getting involved in:
- Preparing composite mould tooling, cleaning, release agent and silicone application
- Operating and monitoring pre-programmed robotic spray systems
- Loading and unloading curing ovens and monitoring cure cycles
- Supporting material testing, TMA, TG and Fibre Volume Fraction
- Recording traceability data and batch records accurately
- Kitting and packing finished components for downstream processes
This area is currently running early and late shifts (6:00am–2:30pm and 2:00pm–10:30pm), applicants must be comfortable working rotating shift patterns.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
The same profile works across both areas, practical, switched-on and keen to learn. The following backgrounds tend to be a good fit:
- Production or manufacturing operative
- Boat builder or marine fabricator
- Joiner, carpenter or cabinet maker
- Panel beater or automotive repair technician
- Aircraft or vehicle body technician
- GRP or fibreglass worker
- General assembly or trade background with strong hand tool skills
You don't need composites experience, but you do need to be reliable, process-minded and genuinely motivated to develop. These roles are for people who want to build something, not stand still.
THE SETUP
- Permanent roles, both areas
- Full training provided from day one
- Real progression into skilled technician roles for those who apply themselves
- Composites laminating area: day shifts to start, with early and late shifts likely introduced as the business grows, carrying a 10% shift premium
- Spray and oven area: currently operating early and late rotating shifts
