JRS Associates are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business for an experienced Production Planner to join their production team in Sheffield.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised Production Planner with experience using ERP/MRP systems to play a key role in production scheduling, customer communication and ensuring on-time delivery performance across a busy manufacturing environment.

The Successful Production Planner – Package:

  • £32,000 – £35,000 per annum
  • Permanent days position
  • Monday to Friday

The Successful Production Planner – Role:

  • Produce and maintain daily and weekly production schedules
  • Ensure production plans meet customer demand and on-time delivery targets
  • Process daily production time bookings and maintain accurate production data
  • Monitor raw material availability and production capacity
  • Liaise with production teams to resolve scheduling issues and minimise downtime
  • Provide customers with regular updates on live production orders
  • Coordinate transport plans and respond to schedule changes
  • Work closely with the dispatch team to ensure timely deliveries
  • Review production documentation before release
  • Collect and maintain Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation for VAT compliance
  • Scan and file production paperwork for audit purposes
  • Raise purchase orders when required
  • Monitor inventory levels and production capacity using ERP/MRP systems
  • Support quality standards while responding to changing production demands
  • Develop contingency plans to minimise the impact of supply chain or equipment disruptions

The Successful Production Planner – Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Production Planner within manufacturing or engineering
  • Strong experience using ERP and/or MRP systems
  • Excellent production scheduling and planning experience
  • Understanding of inventory management and production capacity planning
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal departments
  • Experience raising purchase orders and managing production documentation
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage changing priorities
