Position: Production Supervisor - Steel Industry

Hours: Rotating Shift

Salary: up to £35k dependent on experience

We're partnering with a well-established nationwide manufacturing business that is looking to strengthen its leadership team with the appointment of a hands-on Production Supervisor.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced manufacturing professional who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and isn't afraid to roll their sleeves up when needed. You'll be responsible for overseeing daily shop floor operations, ensuring production targets are achieved, stock is moving efficiently through the facility, and customer orders are dispatched on time.

About you:

You're a natural leader who thrives in a fast-paced heavy manufacturing environment and leads from the front. With experience as a Production Supervisor, Team Leader or Shift Supervisor, you'll have a solid background in steel processing, fabrication, engineering, or metal manufacturing. You'll be comfortable working around machinery such as shot blasters, overhead cranes, industrial saws, slitters, and machining equipment, with a strong understanding of production flow, stock control, and operational performance. We're looking for someone who can motivate a team, hit production targets, and keep the shop floor running efficiently, while also being willing to roll up their sleeves and support the operation when needed. Strong communication, organisation, and a proactive, hands-on attitude are essential.

Key details about the job:

• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day production activities across the shop floor.
• Monitor hourly production performance and ensure output targets are met.
• Ensure materials and finished goods flow efficiently through the operation.
• Drive productivity, quality, and safety standards across your shift.
• Support and motivate production teams to achieve operational goals.
• Work closely with planning, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure stock is dispatched on schedule.
• Identify and resolve production bottlenecks quickly and effectively.
• Provide hands-on support when required, assisting operators and production staff to keep operations moving.
• Maintain accurate production records and shift reports.
• Promote a positive health & safety culture at all times.
