Programme Manager - IT and Business

The Programme Manager role at Slough and Langley College, pays on the Programme Manager pay scale between PM1 £39,291.00 up to PM7 £46,966.00 per year.

Reporting to the Head of Department, the role of the Programme Manager - IT and Business combines both management responsibility with teaching. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of Business and IT lecturers, In addition, the role includes up to 18 contact hours teaching across IT courses, requiring strong technical knowledge particularly at Level 3, alongside tutorial oversight of Business, though the precise delivery balance remains flexible.

The Business curriculum currently spans Level 1 Vocational Studies up to Level 3 BTEC, with a key priority of preparing the department for its upcoming transition to T Levels next September. The IT provision encompasses traditional IT and Computer Games Design, offering Level 2 IT, Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma, Level 3 UAL Extended Diploma in Creative Media, and T Levels in Digital Software Development.

The position carries strategic and operational responsibility for driving student success, satisfaction, and progression through exceptional teaching, learning, and assessment standards. Additionally, the postholder will foster external stakeholder partnerships, secure industry placements, and embed core employability, English, and mathematics skills across all learning programmes.

Candidates must hold a minimum of a Level 4 teaching qualification and proven experience in Further Education curriculum planning alongside relevant industry expertise. Essential attributes include strong digital technology skills, effective communication, and a solid understanding of safeguarding, equal opportunities, and quality assurance systems. The postholder must demonstrate a clear commitment to staff development, learner welfare, and continuous improvement, serving as an exemplary role model who leads collaboratively while upholding the core values and positive reputation of the college.
