PSR Solutions are working in partnership with a well-established and highly respected specialist contractor to recruit a Project Commercial Manager (Quantity Surveyor) for their growing London team.

Our client delivers complex commercial fit-out, refurbishment, retrofit and cut-and-carve projects across London and the South East, with a reputation for successfully transforming existing buildings into high-quality commercial environments. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are seeking an experienced commercial professional to take ownership of project delivery from pre-construction through to final account.

As Project Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the full commercial management of refurbishment, retrofit and cut-and-carve schemes, ensuring projects are delivered profitably while effectively managing risk, procurement and contractual obligations.

This role would suit an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager who has a strong understanding of the challenges associated with working within existing structures, live environments and technically complex construction projects.

• Lead the commercial delivery of refurbishment, retrofit and cut-and-carve projects from inception through to final account.
• Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, forecasts and financial reporting.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies for specialist subcontract packages.
• Manage subcontract procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Administer change control procedures and assess the commercial impact of design development.
• Identify, manage and mitigate commercial risks associated with existing buildings and structural alterations.
• Work closely with operational teams to ensure commercial objectives align with programme and delivery requirements.
• Administer and manage JCT forms of contract.
• Monitor project performance and provide accurate cost reporting to senior management.
• Lead final account negotiations and secure commercially favourable project close-out.

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager within a main contractor or specialist fit-out contractor environment.
• Demonstrable experience delivering refurbishment, retrofit and cut-and-carve projects.
• Strong understanding of commercial risk management within existing building projects.
• Experience managing projects from pre-construction through to completion and final account.
• Good working knowledge of JCT contracts and associated commercial procedures.
• Strong commercial awareness across procurement, cost planning and financial management.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Must have the right to work in the UK.
