We are recruiting an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of a major €30m+ M&E project in Cork for an established engineering contractor.

This is a senior, site-based leadership position with overall responsibility for a significant mechanical and electrical package within a technically complex, high-specification environment.

Preconstruction is already underway, with site delivery commencing in Q1 2027. The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for the project through construction, commissioning and final handover.

The Role

You will provide overall leadership for the project, taking responsibility for programme, commercial performance, delivery teams and client relationships.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overall leadership and delivery of a €30m+ M&E project
  • Leading Mechanical and Electrical project delivery teams
  • Managing project programme, budget, resources and commercial performance
  • Leading the transition from preconstruction into site delivery
  • Coordinating with design, engineering and construction teams
  • Monitoring programme, cost, quality and health & safety performance
  • Identifying project risks and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies
  • Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and commercial teams
  • Ensuring accurate progress, cost and commercial reporting
  • Driving the project through construction, commissioning and final handover
  • Providing regular project updates to Senior Management and Directors

We are looking for an experienced M&E construction professional with:

  • 10+ years' experience in senior project or contracts management
  • Experience at Project Director, Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager level
  • Strong background working for an M&E / Engineering contractor
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale M&E packages
  • Experience within Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor or Data Centre projects
  • A mechanical engineering background with strong knowledge of Mechanical, HVAC and Process systems
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary M&E project teams
  • Experience managing major subcontractors and supply chains
  • Strong programme, planning and risk management capability
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
