A leading multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy is seeking a Project Manager to join its specialist building safety team in London. The Project Manager will work on complex cladding replacement, fire safety remediation and wider building safety programmes, alongside selected new-build construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager to join a growing team delivering important residential and mixed-use schemes across the capital.

The successful Project Manager will manage projects from initial investigation and design development through procurement, construction and final handover. The Project Manager will coordinate clients, consultants, contractors and residents, ensuring each project is delivered safely and efficiently. The Project Manager will also support new-build schemes, giving the Project Manager a varied workload and broader construction experience. This role would suit a Project Manager who understands the technical, regulatory and stakeholder challenges involved in occupied residential buildings.

You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.



The Project Manager's role

The Project Manager will lead cladding remediation, fire safety improvement and building safety projects through all stages of delivery. Responsibilities will include preparing programmes, coordinating design teams, monitoring project risks and supporting the procurement of specialist contractors.

The Project Manager will chair progress meetings, prepare client reports and monitor works against agreed quality, cost and programme targets. They will also work closely with Building Surveyors, Fire Engineers, Façade Consultants, Principal Designers and contractors to ensure remedial solutions meet current safety requirements.

Projects may include external wall system replacement, compartmentation works, fire door upgrades, internal fire safety improvements and new-build residential construction.



The Project Manager

The successful Project Manager will have:

  • Project management experience within a UK construction consultancy
  • Experience delivering cladding, fire safety or building safety remediation projects
  • Knowledge of external wall systems and occupied residential developments
  • Experience working on new-build construction projects
  • A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Progress towards, or membership of, RICS, APM, CIOB or an equivalent professional body
  • Knowledge of the Building Safety Act and current fire safety requirements
  • Strong client-facing, reporting and stakeholder management skills
