Project Manager Construction Consultancy

A growing construction consultancy in Manchester is looking for a Project Manager to join its established team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager who can run their own projects independently and wants to remain hands-on with project delivery across a varied public sector portfolio.

The Project Manager will deliver projects from inception through to completion, working across healthcare, education, local authority, and wider public sector schemes. This Project Manager role would suit a confident Project Manager who enjoys taking ownership of commissions and wants to focus on delivering high-quality projects rather than immediately moving into a management-focused position. The successful Project Manager will work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and senior stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.

The Project Manager will independently lead projects through feasibility, design, procurement, construction, handover, and close-out.

The Project Manager will be responsible for programme management, consultant coordination, procurement, contract administration, risk management, change control, project reporting, and stakeholder engagement.

The Project Manager will chair meetings, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, monitor contractor performance, and maintain strong relationships with public sector clients. They will take responsibility for successful project delivery while receiving senior support where required.

The successful Project Manager will have:

• Prior experience within a construction consultancy
• The ability to independently lead projects from inception to completion
• Experience across healthcare, education, local authority, or other public sector projects would be beneficial
• A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, or a related discipline
• MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB, or progress towards a relevant professional qualification
• Good knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
• A hands-on approach and genuine interest in project delivery
• Strong communication, organisation, and commercial awareness
