Project Manager

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a specialist engineering and manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Project Manager.

This is a key role within the Projects function, responsible for the successful delivery of complex engineering projects from contract award through to completion. You will take ownership of project performance across cost, time, quality, safety and customer satisfaction, working closely with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, installation and commissioning teams.

The role would suit a commercially aware Project Manager with experience delivering projects within an engineering or production environment.

• Take full ownership of allocated projects, ensuring delivery in line with contractual requirements, agreed budgets, timescales and quality standards.
• Manage all commercial aspects of projects, including cost control, forecasting, invoicing, turnover and profit performance.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring expectations are clearly understood and consistently met.
• Identify and manage technical, commercial and business risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop appropriate contract and procurement strategies.
• Control project expenditure and programmes against agreed budgets and delivery milestones.
• Coordinate the full project lifecycle across design, procurement, fabrication, technical assembly, packing, shipping, installation and commissioning.
• Lead regular project review meetings and provide clear updates on project performance.
• Manage contract variations, change control and additional expenditure.
• Ensure the appropriate resources, skills and expertise are available to deliver projects successfully.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements and the application of engineering best practice.
• Produce regular project reports covering commercial, technical, programme and delivery performance.
• Ensure successful project handover and close-out, including completion reporting and the capture of lessons learned.
• Work collaboratively across engineering, commercial and operational teams to maintain a strong culture of collective project ownership.
• Support the ongoing development of business processes, people and project management practices.
• Maintain a strong focus on health, safety and compliance throughout project delivery.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering engineering projects successfully, with strong organisational, commercial and communication skills.

• Mechanical Engineering qualification
• Previous experience in a pharmaceutical, containment, HVAC or other highly regulated engineering environment.
• Knowledge of controls/electrical engineering.
• Strong leadership experience.
• Proven experience managing projects to agreed cost, time, quality and performance criteria.
• Experience working within an engineering or production environment.
• Strong project management and subcontract management experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong time management and organisational skills.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of project financial control.
• Knowledge of project management tools, techniques and methodologies.
